Maximizing independence and wellness is a key function of county economic development and health and human services programs. Measures indicating the well-being of residents, how many people are productively employed, and how well families, children, and seniors are doing, are just a few examples of statistics representing the health and wealth of a community. Although residents' self-sufficiency and ability to reach a certain standard of living is the goal, it does not mean attaining this level excludes these individuals from using the county services and resources available.
